Building off its tradition of putting winning within reach for serious competitors and casual players alike, GSN is giving the most skilled game enthusiasts the chance to compete for a World Champion title and their share of a $100,000 prize. The W3Games Championship will offer game lovers an opportunity to experience the ultimate thrill of competition and see where they rank in several of their most beloved online games. The 2009 W3Games will be a year-long series of online game tournaments featuring four marquee titles -- Solitaire Rush, Bejeweled 2, Wheel of Fortune and Big Money -- each with a $100,000 prize pool. The first tournament, Solitaire Rush, begins on March 2. Several additional tournaments with prize pools ranging between $10,000 and $50,000 will be announced throughout the year.
GSN and WorldWinner first partnered in 2006 to host the WorldWide Web Games. The event culminated in 69 game lovers competing live in Hollywood and one highly skilled player walking away with the title of W3Games Champion. The newly revamped W3Games series will include more titles and pave the way for more winners than ever before. Each tournament will crown one World Champion, and the top 32 finishers in each are guaranteed a portion of that game's prize pool. The series' winnings will total more than $500,000 collectively.
