Repeat Champion Takes Home the Jewels in GSN and WorldWinner's W3Games
Kavishah Emerges as Bejeweled 2 World Champion in Heated Competition
NEWTON, MA and SANTA MONICA, CA -- May 15, 2009 -- The second marquee tournament in GSN and WorldWinner's W3Games championship series came to a nail-biting finish on May 11th. Veteran Bejeweled 2 player and 2006 W3Games Champion kavishah (aka Kavitha Shah) edged out 31 high-scoring finalists to win $30,000, the largest slice awarded from the $100,000 total cash prize pool. Noteworthy competitors jazzfish and shagwana collected their prizes as the second and third place finishers.
"I truly enjoyed competing with new challengers in 2009 and re-matching with some of the players from the first W3Games. Until my 2006 championship win, I had no idea how my scores measured up against the top players. This recent win was important to me because it shows that the rewards are well-deserved given the amount of practice that went into honing my skills," said Kavitha Shah, 2006 and 2009 W3Games Champion. "I continue to be touched by the outpouring of support, camaraderie, and well-wishing that has come my way during the tournament from friends and fellow players."
During the 2006 W3Games Championship tournament, which culminated in a live event that aired on GSN, Bejeweled 2 was Kavitha's strongest game. Since that time, she's continued her practice regimen by competing among WorldWinner's premier cash players. In addition to Bejeweled 2, Kavitha shares her tips for another one of her favorite WorldWinner cash competitions, Zen Gems on her YouTube page at: www.youtube.com/user/kavishah9.
During the past two weeks, the W3Games Bejeweled 2 Championship tournament lit up WorldWinner's message boards as players gathered to cheer on their favorite competitors, predict outcomes and share memories from past tournaments. When the intense competition wrapped, messages of support and congratulations for Kavitha began pouring in.
"Congratulations Kavitha! We know that Bejeweled 2 has a big fan base among WorldWinner players, and we loved watching the camaraderie unfold as top players emerged from the pack in the W3Games tournament," said Christian Meyer, chief marketing officer of WorldWinner and senior vice president of Marketing, GSN Digital.
